competition

the big talk in ed these days is about teacher accountability. the govt is trying to blame teachers for the education crisis. they want to make teachers accountable through standardized test scores. basically putting the teachers ass and paycheck on the line. I don't think that competition is good for childrens education. competition creates fear and judgement. competition is not good for the individual learning process. I don't think it is fair to point fingers at teachers and create competition amongst them instead of collaboration. we must see that it's the system itself that is bad. the way they do everything, not just the teachers.
